William L. Steel

Bill Steel is a founding partner of Green, Steel & Albrecht, LLP. Since becoming an attorney in 1982, Bill has developed and grown a successful real estate, business and transactional practice with clients that own real estate and that have business interests throughout California. 

Bill represents clients in the areas of purchase, sale, financing, leasing and development of all types of real estate and other business assets.  He also assists clients with forming, operating, buying and selling corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships, preparing employment and independent contractor agreements and other business contracts, and obtaining trademark registrations.

With many years of practical business experience, Bill serves as outside general counsel for many businesses. Representative clients include large, publicly held companies, large developers of residential communities, owners of commercial, apartment, and industrial properties, golf courses, wineries, retail stores, banks and other lenders, and real estate and mortgage brokers.  Bill also assists clients of large national and international law firms that do not have offices in California.

Bill is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ocean Institute, where he has served for over 30 years, including 2 years as that Board’s Chairman. Bill’s uncle built the Ocean Institute’s sailing brig “Pilgrim” in 1975.

Serving for 10 years on the Executive Committee of SchoolPower and 1 year as its President, Bill led this charitable foundation in raising millions of dollars for the public schools in Bill’s hometown of Laguna Beach.
